Police have issued an appeal following the death of a man who was attacked and became unwell outside a bar in Bury. The man, aged in his 50s, was rushed to hospital from outside the Sky Bar, a sports bar on Kay Gardens in the town centre, at around 8.45pm on Wednesday, July 22. He is believed to have been the victim of an attack, Greater Manchester Police said.
Victim dies in hospital
The victim was taken to hospital in a critical condition. Sadly, on August 15, he died. A man was arrested on suspicion of assault after the incident. He has since been charged, a GMP spokesperson added.
Investigation continues
The investigation into the incident is continuing, with the force today (August 27) sharing a picture of a man they would like to speak to. He is believed to have been seen with the victim outside the Sky Bar at around 7.30pm on the evening of the attack.
Anyone who recognises him is being urged to get in touch. Police also want to speak to anybody with information about the events that took place in and around the Sky Bar that night.

Senior Investigating Officer Duncan Thorpe said: "While a man has been charged in connection with this case, our enquiries remain ongoing and we are continuing to piece together the events of that evening. We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was at or around the Sky Bar in Bury town centre on Wednesday 22 July and may have seen this incident or has information about what happened."
"No matter how insignificant you think the information may be, it could prove vital to our investigation. I would urge anyone who can assist to come forward and speak to us. Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family and loved ones at this extremely difficult time, and specially trained officers continue to support them."
