A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged after an alleged attack on medical staff and police at the Old Firm fixture at Celtic Park in Glasgow on Sunday, September 20.
Police Scotland confirmed the arrest, stating the man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, September 21, 2026.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "One arrest made. 39-year-old man arrested for assault of medical staff and police assault."
"Due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 21 September, 2026."
Bus fire near Celtic Park
In a separate incident, a bus caught fire near Celtic Park moments after the game finished. Firefighters responded to the blaze on Clyde Gateway outside the Emirates Arena in the east end of the city at 2.25pm.
Emergency services attended after receiving reports of a fire on a single passenger coach. There were no reports of any injuries.
Footage shows bus engulfed in flames
Dramatic footage shared on social media showed the bus engulfed in flames as football fans stood by. Fire could be seen ravaging the roof of the vehicle while fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze.
Thick and dark plumes of smoke could be seen shooting into the sky as onlookers watched.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a call at 2:25pm to a single decker passenger coach well alight on Clyde Gateway outside the Emirates Arena in the east end of Glasgow today, September 20. Fire crews remain in attendance. There are no reports of any casualties."
