Wigan and Leigh Police have thanked the public for their help after a man was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure in a Wigan park. The force said community information led to the arrest.
Arrest on Recreation Avenue
The incident was reported at around 8:30pm on Monday 14 September in Stubshaw Cross Park in Ashton-in-Makerfield. Following a Facebook appeal, officers arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of indecent exposure on 1 October on Recreation Avenue in the town.
In an updated post, the force said: "Thanks to the information you provided we have been able to locate and arrest a man in his 40s on suspicion of indecent exposure yesterday on Recreation Avenue, Ashton-in-Makerfield."
Public information 'vital'
The post continued: "This follows an incident that was reported at around 8.30pm on Monday 14 September, relating to the indecent exposure of a man on a bench in Stubshaw Cross Park off Golborne Road in Ashton-in-Makerfield."
"We received information from the community that allowed us to locate a man and arrest him. This evidence how vital the information you share with us is. Thank you for your help and support."
