A man has been arrested after a woman was allegedly raped in Clubmoor at the weekend. Officers were called shortly before 10.50pm on Saturday, September 26 about a woman who appeared distressed on Queens Drive and reported she had been raped.
Incident at a Clubmoor restaurant
Officers attended and it was reported the incident had taken place at a restaurant in Clubmoor. The victim, an 18-year-old woman, left and asked for help from local residents before the police arrived. A 51-year-old man from West Derby was arrested on suspicion of rape.
Suspect bailed and victim supported
He was taken into custody for questioning and has been conditionally bailed with enquiries continuing. The victim is being supported by specialist officers.
