Two men have been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 22-year-old man in south London, the Metropolitan Police has confirmed. Javed Khan, 22, of Wandsworth, faces charges of murder and violent disorder, while Adonay Berhan, 27, of Croydon, has been charged with assisting an offender.
The victim was stabbed on Tremadoc Road in Clapham in the early hours of Saturday, July 25. Police were called at around 4.30am after the victim was taken to hospital with a stab wound. Despite the efforts of medics, he died. His next of kin are being supported by specialist officers.
A total of six men were arrested on suspicion of murder. A 25-year-old man remains in custody after receiving hospital treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. Three other men—two aged 22 and one aged 24—have been released with no further action.
Both Khan and Berhan were due to appear at Bromley Magistrates' Court on Monday morning. The investigation continues.
