A man in his 40s was arrested in Liverpool on Wednesday, September 23, by Merseyside Police in connection with the investigation into the murder of Robbie Lawlor. The man has since been transported to Northern Ireland to be questioned by the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI).
Arrest and transfer
The arrest was announced this morning. The man was arrested in Liverpool before being taken to Northern Ireland for questioning by the PSNI.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "A man, aged in his 40s was arrested in Liverpool yesterday, Wednesday, September 23, in connection with the investigation into the murder of Robert Lawlor."
Background to the murder
Robbie Lawlor was shot dead outside a house in Etna Drive in north Belfast on April 4, 2020. The PSNI spokesperson added: "Robert Lawlor was shot dead outside a house in Etna Drive in north Belfast on April 4, 2020."
Related charges
Another man, Jonathan Gill, 44, with an address at Malahide Road, Clontarf, has appeared in court charged with the murder of Robbie Lawlor and possession of a 9mm pistol on a date unknown between April 2 and April 5, 2020.
