A murder investigation has been launched after a double stabbing in Hainault, north-east London, left one man dead and another critically injured.
Police were called to Manford Way at approximately 10.20pm on Friday. A man believed to be 23 was pronounced dead at the scene, while a second man, thought to be 22, was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
No arrests have been made, and a crime scene remains in place. Next of kin are being informed.
In a separate incident in Hackney, east London, a man in his 20s suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds after being shot at by two people on a moped on Friday night.
The incidents come amid growing concern over rising violent crime in the capital, which saw its 100th homicide of the year last month.
