Four teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of murder following a fatal crash in Accrington, Lancashire, that claimed the life of a 44-year-old man.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Wednesday evening after reports that a man had been struck by a car near the Nag's Head pub, at the junction of Blackburn Road and Birch Street. The victim, identified as Matthew Weller, was found with serious injuries and was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later despite the efforts of paramedics.
