A man has died and another is in police custody following a serious incident in north-west London, which detectives are treating as murder.
Incident Details and Police Response
Police were called to Chapel Close in Willesden at 12:44pm on Wednesday, 3 December 2025, following reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian. Emergency services, including paramedics, rushed to the scene but despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the location.
The victim has been formally identified as 34-year-old Ruben Nunes. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Arrest and Ongoing Investigation
In a significant development, a 29-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the collision. He remains in police custody as enquiries continue.
Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams, leading the investigation, addressed the gravity of the situation. “This is a distressing incident and we understand the concern it will cause for the local community,” he stated. “Our thoughts are with Ruben’s family and friends at this difficult time.”
