The Metropolitan Police have launched a murder investigation after a 26-year-old man was stabbed to death in Westminster on Friday night.
Officers were called to Abbey Orchard Street, near Parliament Square and Westminster Abbey, at 10.17pm following reports of a stabbing. The victim received first aid at the scene but was pronounced dead after being taken to an ambulance.
Detective Superintendent Dean Lanfear said: “We understand the concern this incident may cause. Officers are on patrol in the area to provide a visual deterrent and to offer reassurance to residents.”

The man’s next of kin have been informed, but no arrests have been made. Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
