A large emergency response has been deployed to the Angus village of Kingennie following a serious incident. Police, ambulance, and fire crews were called to Drumsturdy Road shortly before midday on Wednesday, July 29.
Police confirm ongoing enquiry
Officers from Police Scotland stated they attended a property “in connection with an ongoing enquiry.” No further details have been released about the incident. Images shared online showed around 10 police vehicles at the scene, along with an ambulance, a special operations response team (SORT), and two fire appliances.
The road was closed from the Kellas Road junction to the Ethiebeaton/Forbes junction, which leads into Kingennie. Diversions have been put in place, and the public is advised to avoid the area. Kingennie is located about five miles northeast of Dundee.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Drumsturdy Road, Kingennie, Dundee is closed from the Kellas Road junction and at the Ethiebeaton/Forbes junction. Diversions are in place and members of the public are being asked to avoid the area. Officers attended at a property in connection with an ongoing enquiry. Officers remain on scene as enquiries continue and are being supported by other emergency responders as a precaution.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 11.58am to attend an incident on Drumsturdy Road, Kingennie. We dispatched an ambulance and a special operations response team (SORT) to the scene.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We are supporting emergency service partners at an incident on Drumsturdy Road, Broughty Ferry, Angus. Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances to the area after the alarm was raised at 11.47am on Wednesday, July 29. Crews remain in attendance.”
