About 100 school children were involved in a brawl in Manchester city centre on Friday evening, prompting police to issue a dispersal order. The fighting broke out near a McDonald's restaurant in Piccadilly Gardens at approximately 18:00 GMT.
It is believed the teenagers gathered after being alerted to the disturbance via social media, according to the Manchester Evening News. A girl was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence, Greater Manchester Police confirmed.
Police issued a dispersal order requiring the teenagers to leave the area. The incident is the latest in a series of youth disturbances in the city centre.
