Madame Tussauds London has reopened after a smoke alert forced the famous wax museum to close and evacuate visitors earlier today. The London attraction issued a notice on its website, telling guests it would be closed due to a “technical issue” and that all pre-booked tickets would need to be rescheduled.
Smoke Detected in Non-Public Area
The museum has since confirmed that smoke was detected in a non-public area of the venue, prompting staff to take immediate action and clear the building as a precaution. Firefighters from the London Fire Brigade attended the scene and the issue was dealt with promptly.
Reopening and Visitor Information
Madame Tussauds has now confirmed that the attraction will welcome visitors again from 10am tomorrow. A spokesperson for Madame Tussauds London said: “Earlier today, smoke was detected in a non-public area of Madame Tussauds London. The source was promptly identified and isolated and there was no further impact beyond the immediate area. The building was safely evacuated and London Fire Brigade attended as a precaution. The safety and wellbeing of our guests and team members is always our highest priority. The attraction has reopened following a thorough assessment of the area. We would like to thank our guests for their patience and understanding.”
