All traffic is currently being held on the M61 due to a police incident, with stationary traffic reported in both directions.
The hold is affecting the motorway Southbound from J5 A58 Snydale Way (Westhoughton) to J4 A6 Watergate Lane (Farnworth). Queuing first started at around 8.10am today (November 6), according to reports.
Traffic service reports police incident
A statement from traffic service Inrix said: "All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to police incident on M61 Southbound from J5 A58 Snydale Way (Westhoughton) to J4 A6 Watergate Lane (Farnworth). Note change of direction."
The note indicates that traffic is being held in both directions as a result of the incident.
