M6 closed northbound after crash causing three-mile queues

The M6 has been closed northbound following a crash, causing significant traffic disruption. One lane is shut between the Lancaster and Carnforth junctions (J34 and J35) while emergency services attend the scene.

Traffic diverted and delays mount

Traffic is now being allowed to pass via lanes two and three, but considerable tailbacks remain. National Highways has warned that delays are exceeding 60 minutes ahead of the incident, with congestion stretching back around three miles.

Drivers urged to plan ahead
