Liverpool Radisson Blu Hotel Evacuated After Fire Behind Building

Old Hall Street in Liverpool city centre was closed on Tuesday evening after a fire broke out behind the Radisson Blu Hotel Liverpool. Emergency services, including fire engines, police, and multiple ambulances, were scrambled to the scene.

The hotel was evacuated as a precaution, with guests reporting alarms sounding for over an hour. One guest told the Liverpool Echo: 'The alarms were all going off. They tried to turn it off but they couldn’t get it off, so everybody’s out here now in the cold.' Another guest said they left without shoes or a jacket.

Photographs from the scene showed flames behind the hotel, with several skips and large bins appearing to have sustained fire damage. At least four fire engines were parked behind the building, and a police car blocked access at the junction with Leeds Street.

All evacuated guests were later allowed back inside the hotel, and the ambulances cleared the road. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
