Six Arrested After Man Found Stabbed to Death in Leicester

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man in his 30s was found dead with a stab wound at a property in Leicester. Officers were called to Sawley Street at 1.37am on Sunday, where the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Six men have been arrested in connection with the incident. A 44-year-old man is being held on suspicion of murder, while five others, aged between 24 and 53, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All remain in custody.

Forensic officers and a specialist search team have been examining the address, with additional officers reviewing CCTV and conducting house-to-house inquiries. Detective Chief Inspector Tim Lindley said the victim and the man arrested for murder are known to each other.

“Dedicated policing resources are being used for this operation as we work to build up a full understanding of what has happened,” DCI Lindley said. “We believe the incident happened inside the address in the early hours of this morning and sadly a man has died as a result.”

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward. “Throughout the day officers have been in the street speaking to residents and offering reassurance. This remains ongoing and we would urge anyone who heard or saw anything that might help with our investigation to please come forward,” DCI Lindley added.
