A 47-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of a three-year-old girl in Leeds, West Yorkshire Police have confirmed.
Emergency services were called to an address on Austhorpe Court on 30 July following a report of concern for a young child. The girl's body was discovered at the property, and a woman was taken to hospital for treatment before being arrested on suspicion of murder.
Pippa McGrath, of Austhorpe Court, has now been formally charged with the murder of the girl. She remains in police custody and is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are continuing their investigations. Police have described the incident as isolated and are not seeking anyone else in connection with the death.
Detective Chief Inspector Stacey Atkinson previously urged the public to avoid speculation and to come forward with any information that could assist the investigation.
