A teenager was arrested after a boy was reportedly seen with a knife in a Liverpool city centre McDonald's restaurant. Merseyside Police officers were called following the incident at the branch on Lord Street at around 10.25am on Wednesday, September 23.
Security staff detained suspect
Security staff detained a suspect at the site and seized the knife until police arrived. The force said it arrested a 16-year-old boy from Knotty Ash on suspicion of possession of a knife blade article in a public place. He has been released on conditional bail.
Police urge public to report concerns
Chief Inspector Chris Ruane said: "We are grateful to the person who reported this matter to us. I would be keen to encourage people in the community to report any concerns directly to us so we can take positive action."
"Our officers are committed to targeting anyone who stores, carries and uses weapons for a criminal purpose. I would urge people to educate themselves and speak to their children and family members about the dangers of knife crime."
