A man has been charged after allegedly threatening the Duke of York near his residence on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. The incident reportedly occurred around 7:30pm on Wednesday while Andrew was walking his dog at Marsh Farm, his property on the estate.
Alex Jenkinson, 39, from Stowmarket, Suffolk, faces two counts of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause harassment, alarm or distress, Norfolk Constabulary confirmed on Thursday night.
The charges have reignited calls for Andrew's taxpayer-funded security to be reinstated. The Duke, who stepped back from royal duties in 2019, currently relies on private security arrangements.
