An online influencer known as Chud the Builder has been detained following a shooting outside a courthouse in Clarksville, Tennessee, authorities said.
Dalton Eatherly, 28, was involved in a confrontation with another man outside the Montgomery County Courthouse on Wednesday afternoon that escalated into gunfire, the district attorney general's office said in a statement.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said deputies detained two adult men who were in a physical altercation that led to shots being fired. Both sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to hospital, where they are in stable condition.
District Attorney General Robert Nash told local media that Eatherly allegedly fired a weapon and appeared to have shot himself in the arm during the incident. Formal criminal charges are pending review.
Eatherly, who has gained notoriety for using racial slurs in live streams to provoke reactions, was arrested days earlier for allegedly refusing to pay for nearly $400 worth of food at a Nashville steakhouse, where he reportedly made racial remarks.
