Indonesia has suspended five prison officials after investigators discovered 10 luxury residential units at Cibinong prison in Bogor, near Jakarta, during a surprise inspection on 23 September. The units, separate from the regular cells, were allegedly being used by inmates.
Apartment-style units revealed
Footage taken by the country's ombudsman shows an apartment-style unit featuring a large bed, big-screen television, sofa, refrigerator and dining area. The discovery has prompted the suspension of the officials as an investigation continues.

The suspension follows the uncovering of the 10 residential units, which were reportedly equipped with double beds, air conditioning and large televisions. The ombudsman's footage highlights the contrast between these units and standard prison accommodation.
