Heavily pregnant woman, 31, vanishes; police issue urgent plea

A major search is underway for a heavily pregnant woman who has gone missing, with police and her family described as "extremely concerned".

Charlie Ryan, 31, was reported missing on Friday morning after she was last seen in the Groby Road area of Leicester, near to the Glenfrith Way/New Parks Way roundabout.

She was wearing a black jacket, grey jumper, black leggings and black shoes when she disappeared. Charlie is described as white, 5ft 5ins tall, with bright blonde hair.

Police appeal for public help

Police emphasised the urgency in trying to locate the heavily pregnant woman as they made an appeal to the public. It is understood that she may be from the Northfields area of Leicester.

A statement from Leicestershire Police read: "Police are appealing for public help to urgently find a missing woman.

"Charlie Ryan was reported missing yesterday morning (Friday 1 October) having last been seen in the Groby Road area of Leicester near to the Glenfrith Way/New Parks Way roundabout.

"Charlie, who is 31-years-old, is described as white, 5ft 5ins tall, with bright blonde hair. She is also heavily pregnant. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, grey jumper, black leggings and black shoes."

Family extremely concerned

The statement continued: "Police and Charlie’s family are extremely concerned for her welfare as active enquiries are continuing to find her. Enquiries carried out so far indicate she may be in the Northfields area of Leicester."

"Anyone who may have seen her or knows where she may be is asked to contact police on 999 quoting incident 159 of 2 October."
