Murder Investigation Launched After Girl Dies in Oxfordshire Village

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a girl in the Oxfordshire village of Islip. Police were called to a property on Middle Street on Tuesday, and a cordon remains in place as of Thursday morning.

The girl, whose age has not been released and who has not yet been named, died at the scene. Thames Valley Police have stated that they believe the incident is “contained” and that there is no threat to the wider public.

The girl’s family has been informed and is being supported by specially trained officers. Detective Chief Inspector Sally Spencer, the senior investigating officer, expressed condolences and confirmed that a homicide investigation is underway.

Police are urging anyone with information, footage, or who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. Additional officers have been deployed in the community as inquiries continue.
