A nine-year-old girl has died following a two-car collision in Birmingham, with two men arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
Emergency services were called to Icknield Street in Hockley at around 11pm on Thursday. The girl, a passenger in one of the cars, was taken to hospital with serious injuries but died shortly afterwards.
A woman and two other children from the same vehicle were also taken to hospital for assessment. Their conditions have not been disclosed.
Two men, aged 22 and 23, from the second car—a BMW—have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drugs. They remain in police custody.
West Midlands Police expressed their condolences, stating: 'Our thoughts are with her loved ones at this devastating time.' The investigation is ongoing.
