A nine-year-old girl has died after being found seriously injured at Elliot Industrial Estate in Arbroath, and a 35-year-old man has been arrested over her death.
Police Scotland were called to the estate at around 12.02am on Monday, August 3, after the girl was found with serious injuries. She was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, where she later died.
Death treated as suspicious
The death is being treated as suspicious. The 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, and the girl's family are being supported by specialist officers as inquiries continue.
Detective Superintendent Nicky McGovern said: "Around 12.02am on Monday, August 3 2026, officers were called to Elliot Industrial Estate in Arbroath after a nine-year-old girl was found with serious injuries. She was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee where she later died."
