GB News presenter Patrick Christys has issued a scathing update on the migrant crisis, targeting Andy Burnham after a record number of people crossed the English Channel on a single boat.
During his self-titled programme, Christys said: "The small boats crisis has become the big boat crisis. The biggest ever illegal migrant crossed the English Channel, 230 illegal immigrants on one mega dinghy."
Record numbers on one boat
As a photo of the packed boat appeared on screen, Christys told viewers: "A total of 681 illegal migrants came across the Channel this weekend alone."
He added: "There have been just under 3000 illegals since [Andy] Burnham became Prime Minister, and that's just the ones we know about."
This marks the first time more than 200 people have been crammed on one boat launched by people smugglers. The number of migrants on a single dinghy has been increasing in recent months, after one carrying 173 people capsized in the Channel following an engine fire last week.
