Three fire engines were scrambled to a property on Cormallen Grove in Failsworth on Tuesday night following reports of a fire in a back garden.
Firefighters tackle blaze
Dramatic pictures show firefighters tackling a blaze which engulfed the back garden of a home in north Manchester on Tuesday evening. Aerial photos showed firefighters squirting water into the garden. Crews then made efforts to cool the exterior of the adjoining home to prevent the fire spreading.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At just before 6.30pm this evening (Tuesday 21 July), fire crews were called to reports of a fire at a property on Cormallen Grove, Failsworth. Three fire engines from Manchester Central, Blackley and Philips Park attended the scene, where firefighters discovered a fire in a rear garden.”
“Crews used three hose reel jets to bring the fire under control and prevent it spreading further. Firefighters also cooled the exterior of the property after fire and heat damage affected part of the building. Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the blaze and make the area safe before leaving the scene after approximately 35 minutes at the scene.”
