A four-year-old child is among four people who were rushed to hospital after being attacked by the same dog in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire. The horrific incident occurred on Sunday, May 10, at approximately 2:10 PM, when a Belgian Malinois bit the victims after reportedly coming off its lead.
Details of the Attack
The dog attacked three adults and the young child, all of whom received treatment at hospital for injuries that are not life-threatening. It remains unclear whether the three adults are related to the child. Cleveland Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the incident: a 15-year-old boy, a 34-year-old man, and a 36-year-old woman. They have been detained on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury and are currently being questioned in custody.
Police Investigation
A Cleveland Police spokesperson stated: "At 2:10 PM on Sunday, May 10, police were called to Marshall Avenue regarding reports of a Malinois dog attacking four people. The dog, believed to have come off its lead, bit three adults and a four-year-old child. All have received treatment at hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening."
The dog has been seized by officers while the investigation continues. T/Inspector Mike Dalton from Middlesbrough response said: "Once the report was received, officers swiftly attended the area and the dog was located and seized. As part of the investigation, three people have been arrested and will be questioned while officers establish what took place."
