Four people have been taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Northumberland. Emergency services were called to the A697 after the crash, which happened near to the junction of the B6341 between Rothbury and Edlingham on Sunday morning.
Ambulance response
Two ambulance crews were sent to the scene. Six people were involved in the collision, said to be a mixture of adults and children. Two people were also treated at the scene. It is understood police closed the road for a period of time.

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We received a call to 999 at 11.36am to reports of a two vehicle road traffic collision, south of the A697/B6341 junction.
"We sent two emergency ambulance crews, a community paramedic and a clinical team leader. Together, they assessed six patients - a mixture of adults and children. They treated two patients at the scene and transported a further four to Cramlington hospital for further treatment."
