Four men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 26-year-old man was stabbed to death outside a nightclub in Peckham, south-east London. The incident occurred in Ruby Street in the early hours of Monday, with police called at 3:54am to reports of a disturbance involving a group of people.
Officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service found the victim with stab injuries. Despite their efforts, he died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. Two other men in their 20s were also found injured and remain in hospital in a life-threatening condition.
Four men – one aged 18 and three aged 24 – were arrested later on Monday on suspicion of murder and remain in custody. Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, leading the investigation, said: “This is a deeply tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the victim’s family during this difficult time. We have already arrested four men and our investigation continues at pace.”
DCI John added that an increased police presence would be visible in the area throughout the day and urged anyone with information, dashcam or mobile phone footage to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 1033/6APR, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
