Metropolitan Police officers were scrambled to a residential street in East London last night following reports of a violent disturbance, where they discovered a man in his 30s with critical stab wounds.

Despite the rapid response and the efforts of emergency services, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The area on Ron Leighton Way, in the Newham borough, has been sealed off as a major crime scene, with a significant police presence remaining throughout the night and into today.

Four Suspects in Custody

In a significant development, the Metropolitan Police confirmed that four individuals have been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the fatal attack. All four remain in police custody at this time as detectives from the Specialist Crime Command commence their investigation.

A spokesperson for the Met stated: "A crime scene is in place and urgent enquiries are ongoing. We are in the process of informing the man’s next of kin and they will be provided with specialist support."
