Four men have been arrested on suspicion of drug offences after a quantity of cannabis was found at a property in Fenham, Newcastle. The arrests followed a report of suspicious activity that prompted a large Northumbria Police presence on Fenham Hall Drive on Friday, August 21.
Police uncover cannabis during investigation
Officers attended the address after police became aware of suspicious activity in the Fenham area. A quantity of cannabis was uncovered inside the property, and an investigation was launched.
Four men, aged 37, 30, 27, and 19, were arrested on suspicion of drug offences. All four have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Heavy police presence and resident enquiries
The police presence was described as heavy, with several officers arriving at the scene and remaining well into Saturday, August 22. Officers were also seen canvassing a nearby street as part of the investigation, speaking to residents about trouble they had been experiencing.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "On Friday, August 21, we became aware of suspicious activity at an address in the Fenham area of Newcastle. Officers attended a property on Fenham Hall Drive and uncovered a quantity of cannabis.
"We are investigating the discovery and four men – aged 37, 30, 27 and 19 – have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences. All four men have been released on police bail pending further enquiries."
