Suspect Identified as Robert Dorgan, Also Known as Roberta Esposito
Pawtucket Police Chief Tina Goncalves confirmed that the shooter has been identified as 56-year-old Robert Dorgan, who also goes by the name Roberta Esposito. Chief Goncalves stated, "We have identified the person, the suspect, by a birth name, the birth name was Robert Dorgan. We have also learned that the person does go by the name of Roberta, also uses a last name of Esposito."
The shooting unfolded during a livestreamed match, with footage capturing the chaotic moments as spectators and players dove to the floor and took cover when gunshots rang out. Videos shared online show players squeezing out of the box, ditching their skates, and jumping over the rink's barrier to rush to the changing room for safety.
