Firefighters have tackled a fire which erupted inbetween two houses in north Manchester.
The blaze broke out on Edilom Road in Crumpsall shortly before 6.30pm on Thursday evening. It engulfed a shed which sits in between two properties.
Emergency response
Three fire engines attended the scene, along with paramedics, with neighbouring residents being evacuated whilst crews tackled the fire.
Pictures and videos from the scene showed large orange flames crackling and lapping up, sending smoke billowing across the street, as stunned neighbours watched on.
Fire extinguished
Firefighters eventually extinguished the flames, spending around an hour at the scene. It's understood no one was injured.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Shortly before 6.30pm this evening (Thursday 23 July), three fire engines from Moss Side and Manchester Central were called to attend a fire involving a shed between two houses on Edilom Road, Manchester.
“Crews arrived quickly and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the fire. All residents were evacuated successfully.
“Firefighters worked alongside North West Ambulance Service to make the area safe before departing after approximately one hour at the scene.”
