Fire crews have been tackling a large blaze near a reservoir in Wales for two days. The fire at Llangynidr reservoir near Crickhowell has involved crews from both South Wales and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
Scale of the fire
On Sunday morning, the fire covered 300 hectares of land with a perimeter of 7km. A number of fire appliances were deployed, along with specialist equipment including water bowers, all-terrain vehicles, and 4x4s, as well as assets from national resilience teams.
A helicopter is also now on the scene supporting ground crews in tackling the blaze.
Public safety advice
A spokesperson from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: "We expect that this fire will be protracted and we will take it day by day, with constant assessment on resources needed."
The fire service has asked the public not to fly drones in the area. If affected by smoke, people should close windows and doors, and if they have a medical condition, seek medical advice if needed.
The public are also asked to stay away from the scene and to stay safe.
