A father in Brazil fainted in the delivery room while witnessing his wife's C-section, with the moment captured on video and shared online.
Maicon Pedroso collapsed at a hospital in Criciúma as his wife Mariane Felippe gave birth to their second daughter on April 18. An attending medic had to grab him by the armpits and lower him gently to the floor after he lost consciousness.
Maicon later told local media: 'I don't remember anything at all from the moment the baby was born.' He regained consciousness shortly after and was able to spend time with his newborn.
Photographers Patricia Vogel and Viviane Borges, who have documented over 1,500 births, said they had seen fathers faint before but that the medical team was taken by surprise. The video has amassed nearly 19 million views online, with comments ranging from sympathy to humour.
