Family's Heartbreak Over Sudden Death of Schoolgirl Grace

The devastated parents of a 10-year-old girl who died suddenly have made a touching request for her funeral. Grace Mahan, from County Wexford, Ireland, passed away last weekend, leaving her community in shock.

Her parents, Dave and Kara, and older brother Noah are preparing for her funeral on Friday at St. Cyprian's Church. In a notice on RIP.ie, they asked attendees to wear colourful clothing, stating: "We will celebrate Grace's life in vivid colour, so no black clothes please."

Grace was a member of Shelmalier Ladies Football Club, which paid tribute to her, saying: "All of us are heartbroken to share the tragic and sudden passing of our beautiful 10-year-old club member. Grace loved being over in Hollymount, surrounded by her teammates and friends. A cherished little girl who brought such joy to our club."

Tributes have poured in from the community, with one well-wisher saying: "May her name never be forgotten, and may her spirit live on in every sliotar struck, every jersey worn, and every young player who follows in her footsteps." A teacher described Grace as "the kindest girl, often looking after younger pupils on the playground."

Grace's death notice described her as a "beloved daughter" and "beloved sister." The family has requested donations to the Wexford SPCA in lieu of flowers, to reflect Grace's love of animals.
