Former X Factor contestant Gabrielle Carrington, 29, has been charged with attempted murder after a car mounted the pavement in Soho, London, injuring three people. The incident occurred at approximately 4:30am on Sunday outside the Inca nightclub on Argyll Street.
Three individuals were struck by the vehicle: a man in his fifties who sustained life-changing injuries while unlocking his e-scooter, a woman in her thirties with less serious injuries, and another woman in her thirties who remains in a life-threatening condition.
Carrington, who performs under the name RIELLEUK and has over 362,000 Instagram followers, is also charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm, and drink driving. She appeared on the X Factor in 2013 as a teenager, reaching the live finals as part of the girl group Miss Dynamix.
Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell of Specialist Crime South urged witnesses to come forward, stating: 'While this incident took place in the early hours of the morning, venues in the area were still open, and we believe a number of people will have seen what happened.' The Metropolitan Police have confirmed the incident is not being treated as terror-related.
Carrington has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, April 21.
