Ex-Dreamboys Stripper Faces Murder Charges After Alleged Shooting of Girlfriend in French Village

George Goodayle, a 47-year-old former exotic dancer and model for the well-known strip show Dreamboys, has been charged with the murder of his partner, Jayne Nicholson, aged 49, in a shocking incident that has rocked the quiet village of Les Champs near Brillac, France. The alleged shooting occurred on March 15, with Goodayle reporting to police the following morning at 9am, claiming the death was accidental.

Neighbours Describe Couple as Happy and in Love Before Tragedy

Stunned neighbours in the rural French community expressed disbelief, recounting how they had seen the couple "laughing and joking" just hours before the incident. "We saw them over the weekend of the shooting laughing and joking - they didn't seem to have a care in the world," one neighbour said. "They had just been on a short holiday, and seemed to be part of a proper love story, and were looking forward to the future together." Another neighbour added that the pair often hosted gatherings, describing them as "very much in love."

Police Discover Lifeless Body and Recover Hunting Rifle

Police entered the couple's property on Monday, where they found Ms Nicholson's lifeless body. According to the Angoulême prosecutor's office, an autopsy conducted at the forensic institute in Poitiers revealed she had suffered two gunshot wounds to the upper body. A hunting rifle was recovered from the home, and the investigation has been handed over to gendarmes from the Confolens research brigade.

Angoulême prosecutor Benoît Bernard stated: "On March 16, 2026, at 9.00am, a 47-year-old British national, a resident of Brillac since 2016 and with no declared occupation, reported to the Confolens gendarmerie. He confessed to having shot his partner the previous evening with a shotgun." Goodayle was taken into custody on suspicion of spousal murder, and during interviews, he suggested the theory of an accidental shooting.

Background of the Couple and Their Life in France

The pair, both British nationals, had been in a relationship since June 2025 and were living on an estate that appears to feature a swimming pool, horse paddock, and outbuildings, as shown in Facebook images. Photos from Ms Nicholson's social media also depict the couple enjoying Christmas markets in France in December and driving through snowy landscapes in January, painting a picture of a seemingly idyllic life.

Goodayle, who is also a construction boss, had previously shared on Facebook in October last year about the closure of a venue named Pink Pony Hut on their property, citing issues with protected land. "We have looked into finding other solutions with the Maire, but at this time we are all a bit stumped. They are looking at diminishing the protected area, but this could take a long time," he wrote.

Prosecutors have since charged Goodayle with the murder of a spouse using a firearm, and he has been remanded in custody as the investigation continues. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, leaving many grappling with the stark contrast between the couple's outwardly happy life and the tragic outcome.
