Essex Police Boost Patrols After Epping Forest Flare Scare

Essex Police have significantly bolstered patrols across the picturesque Epping Forest after receiving multiple reports of youths engaging in dangerous behaviour, including the launching of flares.

The force confirmed that officers were called to the area on Wednesday evening following alarming sightings from concerned members of the public. While no arrests have been made in connection with the incident, the police presence has been intensified as a precautionary measure.

A spokesperson for Essex Police stated: "We were called to reports of youths with flares in Epping Forest. While no one was located, officers will be carrying out extra patrols in the area."

Authorities are now urging local residents and visitors to remain vigilant and report any further suspicious activity immediately. The incident has raised concerns about antisocial behaviour in the popular green space, which borders the Harlow district.

This development follows a separate police operation in Harlow just days prior, where two individuals were arrested on suspicion of drug-driving offences, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat crime across the region.
