A major police manhunt has been launched in Essex after a teenage boy was brutally stabbed in Epping Forest, leaving him fighting for his life in hospital.
The violent attack occurred in broad daylight on Friday afternoon near the popular woodland area frequented by families and dog walkers. Emergency services rushed to the scene following multiple distressed 999 calls from members of the public.
According to Essex Police, the victim, believed to be in his late teens, sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a major trauma centre in London. Medical staff have described his condition as critical but stable.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Fraser, leading the investigation, stated: "This was a horrific attack on a young man in a public space. We are pursuing several lines of enquiry and have dedicated significant resources to locating those responsible."
Police have cordoned off a large section of the forest while forensic teams conduct a meticulous search for evidence. Armed officers and police dogs have been deployed to sweep the area.

The attack has sent shockwaves through the local community in Epping, a normally quiet town on the outskirts of London. Residents have expressed their horror at the violence occurring in what many consider a peaceful area.
Local councillor Mary James described the incident as "every parent's worst nightmare" and called for increased police patrols in the area.
