Police, paramedics, and fire crews all responded to a petrol station in Warrington this afternoon due to fears over a man's safety. The incident took place at the Texaco garage, facing Warrington Hospital on Lovely Lane, shortly before 2.30pm on Wednesday.
Concerns for Safety
Cheshire Police say they were responding to concerns for the safety of a man. The Manchester Evening News understands petrol was involved in the incident and there was urgent concern over potential fire. The incident was concluded safely without any fire being started.
Two ambulances, a rapid response paramedic vehicle, two fire engines, and police vehicles were all spotted at the scene. An eyewitness at the scene says a sheet was held up to shield one corner of the garage from public view.
Man Taken to Hospital
Cheshire Police said a man was taken to hospital following the incident. A force spokesperson said: "At around 2.27pm today, Wednesday August 19, officers were called to concerns for the safety of a man at a petrol station in the Lovely Lane area of Warrington."
The spokesperson added: "Officers, with the assistance of emergency service colleagues, were deployed to the scene engaged with the man. He was subsequently taken to Warrington General Hospital."
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Our firefighters attended an incident on Lovely Lane in Warrington at 14:27 today and supported Cheshire Police."
