A man in his 60s was subjected to a horrific sexual assault near a bus stop in Harrow, northwest London, in a shocking broad daylight attack.

The Metropolitan Police have launched an urgent investigation after the victim was raped near the junction of Headstone Lane and Pinner Road at approximately 3:30pm on Tuesday, 16 July.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command are appealing for anyone who witnessed the attack or noticed suspicious behaviour in the area to come forward.

Detective Inspector James Holden stated: "This was a truly appalling attack on a vulnerable member of our community. We're doing everything possible to identify and apprehend the suspect."

Community Shocked by Daylight Attack

Local residents have expressed their horror at the brazen nature of the assault, which occurred near a busy transport hub during afternoon hours.

One shopkeeper told reporters: "It's terrifying that something like this could happen here in the middle of the day. This is normally such a quiet area."

Officers have increased patrols in the area to reassure the community while the investigation continues. Police are particularly interested in any CCTV or dashcam footage that might have captured the incident.
