A 17-year-old girl has been raped in St Leonards, East Sussex, in an attack where one man held her while the other assaulted her. The incident occurred on Friday night after 11pm when the teenager was walking alone in Harrow Lane, near playing fields.
Police said both men shouted at the victim before the rape took place, and they fled towards The Ridge after the assault. Detectives are reviewing CCTV footage and forensic experts have examined the scene.
Detective Inspector Rob Morland praised the victim for bravely reporting the attack to her mother, providing good descriptions of the suspects. He urged anyone with information to come forward, stating: 'Men like this deserve no kind of respect, so if you've overheard someone talking about this, do the right thing.'
The first suspect is described as black, with a large build, about 5ft 7in tall, in his late 20s, wearing a grey tracksuit with white trainers and speaking with a London accent. The second is white, with a small build, about 5ft 5in tall, in his early 20s, wearing a black tracksuit with white trainers.
Chief Inspector Mark Ling confirmed officers will patrol the area intensively in the coming days. The victim is receiving support from specially trained officers.
