Eamonn Holmes' girlfriend Katie Alexander has reportedly moved out of his £1.3million flat as he recovers from a stroke. Alexander, 45, is said to be “devastated” after clearing her things from the rented property in Surrey on Friday.

Flat rented after split from Ruth Langsford

The GB News host, 66, began renting the flat following his split from estranged wife and former This Morning co-host Ruth Langsford in 2024. But the TV breakfast host has been in hospital since being taken ill in April.

Mother-of-three and relationship counsellor Katie lives in West Yorkshire but has been splitting her time between there and the Surrey flat, the Sun on Sunday reported. It is understood that Holmes' family is now looking after his financial affairs, according to the newspaper.

'Incredibly sad situation'

It is unclear where Holmes will live when he leaves hospital, its report said. A source told the paper: “Katie is still very much together with Eamonn and in love, but she’s moved out of the flat.

“It’s an incredibly sad situation — she loved it there and the time they spent together making it home. “Katie has been Eamonn’s rock and lifeline since he fell ill. “She’s willing him to get back to full fitness and get their lives back on track.”

Eamonn met Alexander online and they began a relationship following his split from Langsford, whom he is in the process of divorcing. He previously called her the “perfect tonic” during his health struggles.

Recovery and health struggles

Questions have been raised over whether Eamonn will return to work at GB News. Holmes had suffered a series of live mishaps on the breakfast show in the months before his stroke, including falling off his chair and reportedly falling asleep - although he denied this happened.

He was hospitalised after he was reportedly found “slumped and out cold” at his home. “He is currently responding well to treatment. Eamonn has asked for privacy as he focuses on getting better,” GB News said at the time. “His colleagues and everyone at GB News wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming him back to the people’s channel when he is ready to return.”

His son Declan - who Holmes shares with ex-wife Gabrielle Holmes - said the stroke came as a “real shock”. Holmes shared a message from his hospital bed in April, posting a photo of his two granddaughters with a handmade “Get well soom[sic]” card for him.

He captioned the post: “As my beautiful Granddaughters put it so well - I will do my best to get well SOOM. Thank you for all of your many many good wishes, they give me strength.”

The former This Morning presenter has endured numerous health problems in the past few years, and recently revealed dealing with illness and mobility issues have been “horrendous”. Holmes underwent a double hip replacement in 2016. Five years later, he suffered three slipped discs and a dislocated pelvis. The presenter later had spinal surgery and his ongoing mobility issues mean he now often uses a walker or wheelchair.
