Shocking doorbell footage has captured the moment a thief stole a parcel containing Victoria's Secret pyjamas from a family's front garden in Holland Park, west London. The woman was seen stretching her leg through a gate to reach the package, before a bald man helped her lift it over the fence.
The homeowners, an American family, were alerted to the theft when they received a delivery notification but could not find the parcel. Reviewing their doorbell camera footage, they spotted the brazen theft occurring in broad daylight. The family told MailOnline: 'We couldn't believe how brazen they had been – they just took the parcel in broad daylight while other people were walking past.'
The package, containing two pairs of pyjamas ordered by the family's daughters, was delivered by Evri (formerly Hermes) last Friday. The courier had been unable to open the locked gate and left the parcel a short distance away. The family suspects the thieves were watching for the delivery, as the theft occurred quickly after the parcel was dropped off.
This incident comes amid a damning report from Citizens Advice, which found that Brits are being failed by major parcel firms. Evri ranked last for the second consecutive year, while Yodel scored just 1.7 stars for customer service. Both companies have criticised the report as inaccurate, but Ofcom has warned of potential enforcement action against underperforming firms.
