Desperate Search for British Woman, 59, Missing in Greece

An urgent search is underway for a British woman who vanished from a Greek beach while her husband slept. Michele Ann Joy Bourda, 59, was last seen on a sunbed at Ofryni beach in Kavala on Friday.

Her husband reportedly woke to find her missing, with her belongings still on the beach. The alarm was raised by her family, and Greek missing persons charity Lifeline Hellas issued a Silver Alert after police failed to locate her.

“Her life is in danger. If you know anything, contact the Silver Alert service, 24 hours a day, at the National SOS Line 1065,” the charity said. Greece’s Hellenic Coast Guard has launched a sea search operation.

Michele is described as thin, 1.73m (5ft 6in) tall, with straight blonde hair to her shoulders and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a two-piece swimsuit with rhinestones, yellow beach shoes, and red sunglasses.

The disappearance follows that of another British woman, Jennifer Frances Lacey, 41, who went missing from Vera, Spain, on Monday. Investigations are ongoing.
