Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that a firearm was discharged at a shop window in Rusholme at around 2pm on Tuesday. Wilmslow Road was closed in both directions following the incident.

An investigation remains ongoing, with a large police cordon in place from Moss Lane East to Great Western Street. Public transport has been diverted via Platt Lane, Lloyd Street South and Moss Lane East.

Officers are continuing to investigate the whereabouts of the bullet. Video footage shows officers conducting a fingertip search in the middle of Wilmslow Road, and a drain cover has been lifted as part of the search.
