A father in his 50s has died after a jet ski collided with an inflatable raft carrying his two children off the coast of Calshot, near the New Forest National Park. The incident occurred at approximately 6pm on Sunday, July 5, 2026.

A Hampshire Police spokesman told Metro: 'We were called at 6.08pm on Sunday 5 July with reports of a man in difficulty in the water off Calshot, New Forest. Police attended along with other emergency services and the man, aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital by the ambulance service, where he subsequently died on Monday 6 July. His next of kin are aware, and a file will be prepared for the Coroner.'
