A cyclist is fighting for their life in hospital following a crash in Bury. The collision happened on Whitefield Road just before 6.30pm on Sunday evening (August 23). The cyclist hit a parked vehicle while riding along the street, a Greater Manchester Police (GMP) spokesperson said.
Serious injuries and hospitalisation
The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains there in a 'critical condition'. Officers investigating the incident now want to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash, or who has any footage or dash cam from the area.
Police appeal for witnesses
In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Whitefield Road in Bury at around 6:29pm last night (Sunday 23 August 2026). A cyclist collided with a parked vehicle and has suffered serious injuries where they remain in hospital in a critical condition."
"Officers are appealing for any witnesses who may have saw the moments leading up to this incident, or anyone who has mobile phone or dash cam footage, to come forward and assist our investigation."
