An appeal for information has been launched after an “unsightly” pile of household items was dumped at an industrial estate in Brynmawr.
Images of the fly-tipping incident show a duvet, a bed frame and a bath piled on top of one another and abandoned at the side of the road alongside plastic and cardboard.
Council’s appeal
In light of the incident, Blaenau Gwent Council has launched an appeal asking people to come forward with further information. A spokesperson said: “This unsightly lot was dumped at Blaenant Industrial Estate, Brynmawr. Not only does it look awful, it also could have caused an accident.”
“Fly-tipping blights communities, puts pressure on public services and costs taxpayers money to clean up. We remain committed to fighting the fly-tippers and taking action where we are able to secure evidence.”

Fly-tipping is the illegal dumping of household, commercial or industrial waste on a small scale. This can include several bin bags of rubbish, one or two pieces of furniture, small commercial waste loads, garden waste and small amounts of hazardous waste. In Wales, small-scale fly-tipping should be reported to the environmental health team at the relevant local council.
Larger-scale incidents
Larger-scale illegal dumping can include a lorryload of rubbish, hazardous or industrial waste, or organised criminal waste operations. Such incidents should be reported to the Environment Agency. Large-scale waste dumping can also be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
